Police: 90-year-old woman robbed, assaulted in her Elizabeth Township home

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) — Police claimed a 90-yr-previous lady in Elizabeth Township was robbed and assaulted in her property.

Law enforcement stated officers responded to the home on Boston Hollow in the township on Thursday. When they arrived, the woman reported she was observing Television set in her living area at 2 a.m. when the Tv went out and a banging was listened to at the door.

She then instructed law enforcement that her door was kicked open and two gentlemen entered her home. One particular gentleman stole jewelry from the bed room spot,  the woman advised police. 

Prior to leaving, one particular male sprayed the lady with warm sauce and alcohol to disorient and the other smashed her telephone on the floor, according to police. 

“They ran off like cowards into the darkness,” Elizabeth Township Law enforcement Main Ken Honick informed KDKA-Television on Friday.

The girl sooner or later went to a neighbor’s home to contact 911.

Investigators quickly discovered the suspects’ get-away auto, a red mini-van, by employing video clip from doorbell cameras from houses, surveillance cameras from corporations and the township’s license-plate reader. 

Law enforcement reported William Aschmeller and Carl Mathews, the two of McKeesport, had been later arrested and charged. They are now in the Allegheny County Jail. They are both experiencing a checklist of costs, which includes theft and burglary. 

Investigators believe the pair targeted the woman because 1 of the suspects, a handyman, had completed some function in the community in just the previous 6 months and discovered her as an effortless victim.
